Wickham Park: Catching Up #5, November 30,2010

A few new flowers plus a revisit to several old ones. This ends the Wickham Park Catching Up series.

I had thought the camphorweed was done for the year, but found a lot of them in full bloom along a wide trail running north from the youth camping area.

Something new! First time I've seen a chicken in the park. She was pecking around on the south side of the youth camping area.

I believe the blossoms arise from the red structure.

There were a few palafox beside the trail on the east side of the youth camping area. Some heads were turning to seed, others were already full of seeds.

Wild pennyroyal ()

I was surprised to see the pennyroyal blooming; didn't expect to see any blooms until spring.

First of this species that I've photographed in Wickham Park. This one was in the ditch on the north side of the Leisure Center.

Found this one in the grass near the shady laurel oak on the north side of the main loop road.

This was the first time I had seen this plant in the park. It was in the ditch on the north side of the Leisure Center.
