Lake Washington, October 21, 2010

One uncommon plant and a few common ones. These were all found on the north side of the park.

Twinevine (Sarcostemma clausum, Apocynaceae)
Native

Note how the vine climbs around itself, causing it to resemble twine. (Dec. 17--now that I've just put up our outdoor Christmas decorations, I can say that the vine looks exactly like the twisted green cords of a string of Christmas lights.) This plant is a relative of the milkweeds.
