Savannah milkweed (Asclepias pedicellata, Apocynaceae)
Native, Florida endemic
This small milkweed seems to pop up and then disappear before my next visit. I never know where I'll find it. This one was near the edge of the woods on the north side of the disc golf area, near the little green bridge. It had escaped a recent mowing.

Always trying to get a sharper photo of this tiny flower.

I can't resist shooting these wildflowers. The one on the right was almost white.

Loblolly bay (Gordonia lasianthus, Theaceae)

Another irresistable flower. This time I cropped it to focus on the ants having a feast.

Pale meadowbeauty (Rhexia mariana, Melastomataceae)

I believe I have correctly identified this one. Its leaves are fine-toothed.

Florida scrub roseling (Callisia ornata, Commelinaceae)
Native, Florida endemic
This one had such a strange shape, I thought I had found a new wildflower. On a closer look, I realized it was a roseling that was in the process of withering away. The dangling buds were one clue. The other clue was the three petals.
